MQL stands for MetaQuotes Language. It is a special programming language that enables the programmer to develop Expert Advisors, Indicators, and Scripts for MetaTrader trading platform. The programs that you develop with MetaQuotes Language or MQL help you to automate your trading process, create trading alerts, evaluate the market, perform complex trading tasks, send trading signals via email, and more.

MQL format is similar to the C language but it is very easy to implement. It comes with several functions and predefined variables that make the job of developing complex programs very easy. You do not need to know that much about programming to be able to write MQL programs.

The latest version of MQL is MQL 4 (MQL4).
